Our training is based on the psychology of the buyer and understanding what business they would be most successful at. We have found this to be the best to help consultants and their clients achieve ultimate victories. We train consultants to embrace this methodology and use it in their businesses. We do role plays, give excellent tips and tricks of the trade, and work with the brokers to ensure their performing at the highest standards. We also allow them to have an opportunity to meet and talk with other consultants within the group. We have found it to be extremely beneficial to give the consultants that weekly time to collaborate. Victory is the name of our game, and this is just one of the ways we accomplish it. At the completion of the three month program, the brokers that have complied with all regulations of the coaching will receive a certification. They become an FBA Certified Franchise Broker. We do make them work for that certification, though. Expect homework, practice, and more practice to be eligible to receive this esteemed certification.
We provide a mentoring program that matches brokers who have a specialized skill set with another broker that is looking to develop that skill. It is proven that both brokers benefit from this program. We have a training program for mentors and mentees to help them manage expectations, and to fully utilize the program’s opportunities. This program has been extremely successful.
At the end of the Mentoring program, both Mentor and Mentee receive a certification, acknowledging their completion of the program.
Lead by Carl Gould, a renowned speaker, author and advisor, our sales team is dedicated to helping you enhance your entire business process. His program will not only train you in how to better sell franchise concepts but teaches you how to identify who your buyer is, and once you’ve identified the personality profile of your buyer, you will understand your buyer and know how to best assist them in their search for a franchise. We also supplement our Carl Gould training's with other leading industry sales experts. There is at least one sales training each month.
Our senior legal advisor, Eric Riess of Greensfelder, Attorneys, is one of the top franchise attorneys in the country. Well-versed in all aspects of the franchising process, Eric and his team brings knowledge, experience and expertise to the FBA community. Their focus is on assisting the consultant, the client and the franchisor in the successful sale of a franchise. They will help protect you from liability, as well as assist you in the award process. We invite all of our franchise partners to present their concept to our members. These presentations help to further your understanding of their unique franchises, and help you to better present their concept. Each presentation is recorded and archived on the FBA site, as a resource tool to those who missed it, or would like to review the information.
You can rely on the accuracy of this information, as it is coming directly from the franchise, you will also have the opportunity to ask questions to fully understand the concept. Each presentation is recorded and posted to the franchise’s FBA page, to refer back to or to view if you were unable to attend the live presentation. Not only does this elaborate on the information posted on each franchise’s page, but it also opens the communication between you and the franchise, helping create and strengthen a relationship that we hope results in the awarding of a franchise to your client.
As a member of the FBA, there are many services that you will be able to participate in either free of charge, or at a discounted rate. One of the most beneficial services that we offer is free legal counsel. Our legal department is available to review FDD's and franchise agreements, as well as answer your legal questions, to help protect you and your business from liability.

When you are looking for a franchise to match your clients’ goals, do you manually go through a list of franchises? Although time consuming and ineffective, this has been the industry standard... until now. When your client gives you a list of hot buttons, use them to your advantage. Our franchise list includes any franchise that has agreed to work with brokers, not only those in your broker network, and will increase your client’s access to options.
If the Association database contains a franchise you are not aligned with, contact them through your membership in the FBA. Franchises listed with the FBA have agreed to work with brokers. We do have blanket referral agreements for a majority of franchises listed on the FBA site, though commissions may be negotiated on an individual member basis. Therefore we provide negotiation training and the proper legal forms required for you to represent the franchisor. Before choosing a franchisor on the list, you will have full access to research and reviews to facilitate your selection.

Every month we provide many beneficial webinars, and it is nearly impossible for our members to participate in every single presentation. To ensure everyone is able to take advantage of our available resources, we have recorded and archived all presentations for any member who missed the live meeting, or would like to review the information.
Legal, sales and industry presentations are archived together in our Resource Center, and individual franchise presentations are posted on the franchise’s FBA page. When you need additional information on a franchise for your client, or are facing a new issue that you are unsure of how to handle, you can search our archived video library and learn more about the topic.
We have a large, diverse group of brokers and consultants that possess a great deal of franchise knowledge and industry experience. When the members share information, it improves our business community, as a whole. We provide a member contact list to other FBA members, so they can share sales techniques, franchise information, and, in some cases, members will collaborate on a deal that may never have closed with just one broker. We provide this list to open up communication among all members of the Association.
Studies have repeatedly shown that the internet is the primary source for the vast majority of franchise seekers. Franchise candidates start their search for franchise information in the same place where most people begin their search for information—on the internet.
As with franchise candidates, many franchise brokers and consultants primarily use internet leads, however, these leads can be expensive. Throughout the FBA site you'll see that there are many methods of generating leads that you can use to build your pipeline, in addition to internet leads.
We provide access to several different leads sources and distribute inquiries randomly amongst the broker list. The internet is an excellent source for leads, but we still encourage all members to use multiple lead sources to increase their total number of leads, and in turn, increase their number of awarded franchises.
Under the new FTC regulations, you are responsible for any misinformation provided to your clients that is inconsistent with the Franchise Disclosure Documents. It is difficult to obtain FDDs for all the franchises you represent, yet it is necessary in order to protect yourself. As a member of the Franchise Brokers Association, we provide you with the FDD for franchises that provide them. The document is available in a Read-Only view; you are not be permitted to send the document to clients, alter the document, print the document, or make any changes to it.
This will allow you the opportunity to learn about them, check your facts, and protect yourself from providing misinformation to your client. Our free legal department is available to answer any questions that you may have in regards to the FDDs. They will assist you in developing your knowledge and understanding of the documents.
We provide a listing of earnings claims for you to compare and use for training purposes. Understanding and becoming familiar with these documents can help you appropriately match a franchise with your client.

You can send clients and potential clients to the FBA site, to view your profile and verify your training's and credentials. Your profile can include your name, company name, location, training's and mentoring you’ve been involved with, as well as FBA awarded certifications. You can also list a bio and your company mission statement.

We offer FBA certification programs to our members, these programs are extremely important to your professional success. To receive this certification, you must participate in our 3-month Coaching Program. During the 3-month session, you will be trained in understanding your client’s personality style, qualifying and matching them to the right concepts, setting up systems to create long-term revenue streams, developing additional client generation methodologies, understanding how to use and build your team of partners and much more.
Assists client and other franchise brokers in the process of self discovery and becoming a trainer & advisor in Franchise Brokering
To receive this certification, you must participate in 3 months of the Mentoring Program as a mentor. It is proven that the best way to learn something is to teach it. Through the mentor training, mentors learn how to become coaches and mentors to their mentee and to their clients. It is a unique process where they will uncover and practice their skills of guiding others to self discovery. This can be a challenging program for the mentor, but it is well worth the rewards. Mentors must have an advanced skill set in the qualities the mentee is looking to develop.
To receive this certification you must participate in 3 months of the Mentoring Program as a mentee. Upon your completion, you will be recognized by the FBA as having completed the program. We love to honor our members for taking time to develop themselves, and this certification is acknowledgment of that.
To receive this certification, you must attend 10 sales, 10 industry, or 10 legal trainings within one year. We have trainings in each topic every month, and our archived trainings can be used to complete this certification as well.
Upon completion of one of these certifications, you will have a greater understanding of the sales, industry and legal issues in franchising.
To receive this certification, you must be a Certified Franchise Broker, a Certified Franchise Mentor, and have completed one year of legal trainings.
As an FBA Certified Franchise Consultant, you will have learned and reviewed a great deal of franchise information, received trainings from leaders in the industry and be fully prepared to consult your clients on buying a franchise. This certification will prepare you to become a Certified Professional Franchise Consultant.
To receive this certification, you must be a Certified Franchise Consultant, complete a video training program titled The Consulting Process, and attend at least five sessions each of Sales and Industry trainings.
As a Certified Professional Franchise Consultant you will be trained to conduct a profitable and well-organized business. You will be highly skilled in identifying your clients’ personality styles. You will be required to work with a franchisor in their development department for a minimum of 3 months, to understand the workings of the franchisor. And, you will be trained how to dissect a franchise offering and analyze its profitability. This program will provide you with the tools necessary to succeed, and the preparation to grow into a Master Franchise Consultant.
To receive this certification, you must be a Certified Professional Franchise Consultant. A Master Franchise Consultant must assist in the award of 10 franchises. At the Master Franchise Consultant level you will have a niche market that we help you to develop and maintain. You will be called upon to train new brokers as a trainer through the FBA system, and you will participate in the FBA committee and be involved in the development of future consultant systems and processes.
A Master Consultant is the highest level of achievement in the FBA.
