If someone or something ever convinced you that having both a GOOD business and lifestyle was a gift for only the lucky and fortunate – forget it. In fact, 7.5 million people in the United States are living proof that having both is not only possible one day – it’s possible now.

What’s the secret to busting the business vs. lifestyle debate?

Franchising. And when you begin to understand the business model, the secret’s not so secret.

Now, you may wonder how one industry can single hand-idly give you everything you want and more, so here’s a breakdown.

An Industry Overview

Here’s a definition to start. A Franchise is a business model involving a franchisor, the person who establishes a brand’s name, trademark, and business system, and a franchisee, the one paying a royalty for the right and access and do business with the already developed brand.

The allure of franchising is that new owners buy into a successful system – they get the perks of business ownership without the time it takes to build it up.

Franchising and the brand

Brands are part of our daily lives. From which products you buy at the store to where you choose to eat – the brand a business creates is one of its most valuable assets, especially for franchisors.

In most cases, franchise owners get immediate business from already loyal customers. This is because many franchise brands are recognized and loved throughout the nation or even internationally. And though, as a business owner, you can go on to develop local relationships, what get’s people in the door is the trust they have in the company.

However, there is an expectation of consistency. People want what they want, especially from businesses they’ve trusted and given business to in the past. Because of this, as an owner, you must follow the methods set by the franchisor – to maintain trust and easy brand recognition.

Franchising and the relationships

Building relationships as a franchise owner is one of the drivers for people in the industry. Not only do you familiarize yourself with those in your community, but you are also working alongside the brand nationwide. There is a sense of togetherness when brand owners get together in hopes of helping one another succeed.

Additionally, most franchisors have training programs and constant support for owners, new and old. So again, even if you’re on a solo entrepreneurship journey, you’re not alone.

Business and Lifestyle Unite

Now you understand how franchising is a great business opportunity – but what about the lifestyle change that comes with it?

When you buy into a business that has everything mapped out, it saves you time and money – leaving you more time for living life on your terms.

You could find a business opportunity that gives you flexible work hours, an opportunity to work in any industry, a hands-off day-to-day. Whichever business you want, there’s a franchise for it.
